Grand Valley Audubon is run almost entirely
by dedicated and talented volunteers.

Would you like to get involved?
Take a look at some of the volunteer opportunities below!

Here are some of the things we do:

Please note: We are still building this page, so links below are not active yet. Please check back in and sorry for the delay!
We lead field trips
GVAS's skilled birders lead field trips to help birders of all levels get outside, find great birds and learn new tips and tricks. Want to lead a field trip? Click here: Volunteer to lead or assist with Field Trip
We Educate
GVAS volunteers educate Grand Valley students and the public about birds and other wildlife at various events throughout the year including our Fall Bird Banding Program, school field trips & other events. If you are interested in assisting with our Education Programs click here: Volunteer with Education Programs
We Restore Habitat
Like to work outdoors with your hands? GVAS volunteers help plant, weed and water at the Audubon Nature Preserve as well as other property maintenance tasks. Want to help us make the Audubon Nature Preserve the best bird habitat it can be?

We Count Birds
GVAS Audubon participates in several nationwide counts including Christmas Bird Counts in the Grand Junction area as well as the Grand Mesa and the International Migratory Bird Count in the Spring. In addition, we conduct two independent monitoring projects- one on Western Screech-owls and one on Mountain Bluebirds. Interested in helping us collect important data on bird populations?
